COVID-19 Latest - Feb 15

Easing of the lockdown measures have allowed us to open our courts from Monday 29 March with a certain number of restrictions.

In line with Lawn Tennis Association advice there are certain precautions we must take.  These are as follows:

  • You must book a court using the Club’s online booking system (this will facilitate contact tracing, should this be necessary. All members should have access to the booking system. Please contact us if you do not.

  • Singles and doubles play with players from a different household is permitted.

  • The clubhouse is out of bounds except to access the floodlights.

  • Please bring hand-sanitiser with you and use it before and after you play.  As a fall-back, anti-bacterial hand-wash and/or hand sanitiser will be provided on the courts.

  • The toilet, too, is out of bounds because of the hygiene risk (the Club is not in a position to provide hot running water and frequent cleaning which its use would entail).

  • The nets have been set at the right height and should not be adjusted (to avoid handling the measuring poll and winders).

  • Please bring your own tennis balls as these will not be provided by the Club.

  • Please maintain social distancing at all times, including when other players are entering or leaving the clubhouse or courts.

  • Please read (and look out for changes to) the Lawn Tennis Association ‘Guidance for Tennis Players’ at  This provides a range of important advice, including the following:

  • Only take the minimum amount of equipment with you that you need to play.

  • Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles, before and after use.

  • Bring a full water bottle, and do not share food or drink with others.

  • Bring your own tennis balls that are clearly marked (e.g. with your initials).

  • Ensure you take all your belongings with you at the end of the session and do not leave anything on court.

Just three other points:

  • Club-nights will resume from 7th April.

  • Individual coaching with James Hilltout is permitted and Junior coaching sessions will resume from 19 April.

  • Membership renewals are now taking place. You will receive key code once form and payment have been received.

We will keep this page updated as and when COVID-19 related measures change.
